Compiled by the Steel Framing Alliance
and Canadian Steel Construction Council, this
searchable directory provides the user with the
ability to search the current, complete range
of fire and sound-rated cold-formed steel assemblies
as listed by the major recognized testing agencies.
The assemblies contained in the data base
are limited to those that are relevant to residential
and light commercial construction.
The material in this guide has been prepared
as a reference of fire and sound rated cold formed steel
framed assemblies. While every effort has been taken
to ensure that the material is technically correct,
it only offers a brief description of the tested assemblies.
It must not be used without first reviewing the source
documents of the testing agencies listed below for a
full description of the assembly.
The publication of material contained herein
is not intended as a warranty on the part of the Steel
Framing Alliance, the Canadian Steel Construction Council,
nor the Steel Stud Manufacturers Association, nor their
members, that this information is suitable for any general
or particular use, or of freedom from infringement of
any patent of patents. Any use of this information or
suggested practices can only be made with the understanding
that the Canadian Steel Construction Council, the Steel
Framing Alliance, and the Steel Stud Manufacturers Association
makes no warranty of any kind respecting such use and
the user assumes all liability arising therefrom.
Please note that some assemblies are constructed
with proprietary products that may not be available
in all geographical areas. Please consult the source
documents of the testing agencies for these details.
When considering designs in Canadian Building
Code jurisdictions, please note that only ULC and NRCC
assemblies should be referenced.
