Steel Imports Increase 29% In October |

WASHINGTON
– Based on preliminary Census Bureau data, the American
Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported last Wednesday
that the U.S. imported a total of 1,560,000 net tons (NT)
of steel in October 2009, including 1,177,000 NT of finished
steel (up 29% and 15%, respectively, vs. September final
data). This was the highest monthly total import figure
